OUR COMPANY
Craft & Trade is a team of veteran craftsmen, tradesmen, and award-winning designers who are dedicated to preserving the quality and art of fine home building. We are passionate about building with integrity, using quality materials and old-world knowledge to transform homes around the Lake Norman Area.
Led by husband and wife team Trey Douglas and Laura Anderson, Craft and Trade was formed in an effort to elevate the experience of custom home building and bring an exceptional level of taste and quality to our projects. We believe homes, with a little love, should last a lifetime.
We are passionate about transforming spaces and making people excited about the homes they live in.

TREY DOUGLAS
Trey Douglas, General Contractor and Master Craftsman, has over 30 years of experience in complex residential and commercial construction. He began his career at 18 apprenticing to a restoration carpenter where he was taught how to to understand the "ghost marks" of an older structure and how to replicate the quality and design of old world craftsmanship. Trey's eye for detail and steady craftsmanship has stayed with him throughout his career. A native of New York City, Trey has been recruited to work on many high profile projects including: The Museum of Math in Manhattan, Essex House, The Waldorf Astoria, Equinox Gyms, Carnegie Hall, Fisher Island (Miami) and celebrity estates. Trey is known for his incredible custom trim work, attention to detail, exceptional standards and quality craftsmanship.

LAURA ANDERSON
Owner and licensed realtor Laura Anderson is a veteran of the luxury fashion industry having spent almost 2 decades working with emerging contemporary brands in NYC. As a Director she managed global production teams and worked intimately with designers on developing collections and projects from concept to color to the final product. She loves inspiring clients to think creatively. Laura loves the process of starting with an idea and then bringing it to life by creating 3D renderings personalized to each client. She approaches each project with passion and a commitment to excellence. Most importantly, she believes remodeling should be fun for clients and strives to make it a clear and exciting process.

Design + Build Process
PHASE1
CONSULTATION
Our process is the same whether we are designing a new home or remodeling your current space. We start with a free phone consultation to understand your vision, your needs, goals, and budgetary guidelines. Then we do an on-site consultation if everything aligns with the phone consultation. Once we are retained for design, we curate inspirational images that help envision the style and aesthetic of your project. Our mission is to provide you with a home that surpasses your expectations, we take great care to thoroughly comprehend your specific desires and preferences.
DESIGN DEVELOPMENT
During this exciting phase, we combine all of your dreams, thoughts, and ideas with our refined skills, extensive home-building experience, and in-depth knowledge of interior design. The result is an architectural design where we plan your space and map out the final layout of your home. We bring your plan into full-color 3d Images so that you can walk through your space with us as we make final product selections and finesse design details. Your final proposal is completed as we make plans to start the building process. We keep this process simple and seamless.

PHASE 3
PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION
The concluding stages of the architectural plans are nearly finished. Your selections are now being used to finalize blueprints, specifications, budgets, and schedules. As construction is on the horizon, we're ensuring that all preparations are in place. You don’t need to worry about complying with local laws; we assist in obtaining final approvals from the relevant building authorities and permits. Additionally, at this juncture, we accompany you on a walkthrough of your custom new house or remodeling project, outlining the key elements of your new home or renovation to help you envision the construction process.
CONSTRUCTION
The initial groundwork is complete, the onset of the exciting construction phase begins. We maintain constant communication with you throughout the entire process, regularly visiting the site to oversee progress and conduct comprehensive inspections at crucial junctures. Construction, by nature, isn't an exact science; it unfolds outside controlled environments where variables are ever-present. While we endeavor to ensure a smooth process, we also accommodate any minor adjustments that may arise along the way. Through unwavering commitment, adept management, and transparent communication, we proactively address issues to prevent misunderstandings and guide the process towards a successful completion.

WELCOME HOME
Just before we finalize the project, we extend an invitation for you to visit your new home or remodeling project and take a comprehensive walkthrough. This allows you to explore every room and inspect each element. We guarantee that the craftsmanship aligns with your expectations and meets our stringent standards. Additionally, we provide a detailed demonstration on operating all appliances and systems. Our aim is for you and your family to take immense pride in your custom home or remodeling project, eagerly anticipating a life of luxury, comfort, and profound fulfillment within its walls.
